History
Wildwood Christian Retreat began in 1985, years after Director Allen Marshall first felt a burden to start a Christian camp. After the death of his mother Bertie Marshall in 1984, some of the heirs expressed a desire that the property in Tunnelton, West Virginia, be used in the Lord’s work, opening the door for the start of Wildwood.

A road was built on the undeveloped hilltop, brush was cleared, and the first camp was held in 1986 with 13 campers. Since then, the Lord has blessed, and hundreds of campers have had the opportunity to escape the cares of the world and listen for the voice of the Lord at Wildwood.

Facilities
Wildwood is a small camp best suited for about 50 campers per week, allowing staff members to give personal attention to campers. Facilities consist of eight small, rustic cabins, as well as the main lodge, which includes the auditorium, dining hall, kitchen facilities, dorm rooms, and prophet's chamber. Campers enjoy activities on the large playing field and surrounding woods, as well as the waterslide.

Philosophy
Wildwood is a Christian camp dedicated to the local church in its ministry to youth. The desire of the director is that Wildwood glorify God in every aspect, and to that end conservative standards have been set to exclude the world and its influences and to facilitate God’s work in hearts. The camp program is designed to reach young people for salvation and surrender to God through daily devotions, preaching services, Bible memorization and soulwinning, and to challenge them physically with fun activities throughout the week.

Doctrine
Wildwood is fundamental, Baptistic, pre-millenial, separatist and evangelistic.
