August 2018

November 27, 2018 By Wildwood

Dear Pastors and Supporting Friends:

How swiftly the summer is passing. Last month we held our 33rd annual summer camp. We are thankful for the preaching of Evangelist Paul Crow and Evangelist Dwight Smith during Junior and Teen weeks. We were also very thankful for the high quality and talented staff the Lord provided. There were many adversaries during those two weeks, but many spiritual decisions were made among the young people, including decisions about full-time Christian service. There are those in the ministry today because of a decision made like that in past camps at Wildwood.

The next event on our camping calendar is of course the Men’s Retreat in September. This year we are privileged to have Dr. Ron Williams as our speaker. Dr. Williams spoke at our Ladies’ Retreat in May, and he will have an opportunity to speak to the men. I know he will be a great blessing. Evangelist Glenn Stevenson will be speaking at our Winter Retreat.

Last year we expressed the need to replace the roofing on the old part of the lodge. Praise the Lord we were able to do that before the Ladies’ Retreat. I want to thank those who gave financially and those who helped us during the work week. One of the projects that we have planned for this year is a way to cool the auditorium during the services. The heat is definitely a distraction. One person has already made a donation for that purpose, and we are working on a plan.

Janet and I have been truly blessed these last 33 years to have such support and prayers from so many people. When I walk around the camp and see the facilities and equipment, I am reminded of individuals who gave and worked to provide them. Just about everything could have a brass name tag attached to it. Some of those individuals have gone home to Glory. I can say as Paul said in Philippians chapter one, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.”

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and financial support over the years.

Sincerely in Christ,

Allen Marshall
