Dear Faithful Supporters,
“O LORD, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom has thou made them all: The earth is full of thy riches.” Psalm 104:24
Since our last letter in February, God has continued to bless the camp in so many ways! April 13-15 we had many that came to the men’s workday and we accomplished much caulking, caulking, and caulking! The logs were in critical need of being properly sealed from the weather. We were also able to paint some of the back of the original building, and install the flooring in the nurses’ station. Although rain prevented us from applying the log stain during the men’s workday, a few weeks later Pastor Cumberland and my family were able to stain the logs just in time for the Ladies' Retreat!
The Ladies' Retreat was a great blessing and we are still seeing spiritual growth from some of the ladies in our church that attended. God used Mrs. Ingram and Mrs. Shoultz, and we are thankful for what He did! Eighty-two ladies attended which was an increase in attendance over the past few years. We anticipate having another overnight Ladies Retreat next year!
The survey is well underway for the additional property we are interested in purchasing. Once that is complete, we will have the property appraised and prepare a legal contract for purchasing. Please pray that God will provide as we step forward completely in faith!
We had a tremendous blessing recently when a college group passed through and volunteered to work on some things while staying at the camp in between meetings. The leader works on the maintenance at their college and is very skilled. With his wife’s help, they painted the original part of the building, and assisted Pastor Cumberland pulling the wiring from the boys shower house to the main building. We still have to upgrade the main power to the camp to utilize this, but this gets us one step closer. The ladies in this group also helped clean the buses and cabins to prepare them for camp.
We have one last workday scheduled June 24 from 9:00AM-12:00PM. We could use extra help if you are available! We will be cleaning up the grounds, buildings, slide, exterior of buses, and much more!
If you are interested in providing some supplies to help with the weeks of camp, the following are some items we could use: AA, AAA, and D batteries, walkie-talkies, dry cereal, gallon cans of green beans, corn, spaghetti sauce, and baked beans, cookies, Gatorade bottles and powder, Kool-Aid, 39- and 55-gallon trash bags, 6 oz and 16 oz styrofoam cups, styrofoam cereal bowls and plates, sugar, napkins, paper towels, and Ziploc bags, to name a few.
Soon the hearts of young people will be confronted with strong preaching from God’s Word and some of the greatest spiritual battles will be waged on this mountaintop. I implore you to pray for God’s Spirit to rest mightily upon the camp and all those who will be working here. Please pray for Evangelist Joe Mueller and Pastor Billy Ingram that they would preach with power from on high. Please pray for these young people to yield themselves to the Lord, instead of Satan’s cunning lies. “Mystery Mountain, Quest for Truth” is our theme this summer, and we pray many young people will find “The Way, the Truth, and the Life,” and determine to follow His path for their life.
All for Jesus,
Joel Marshall
