Dear Faithful Supporters,
I am delighted to report God’s continued blessings on Wildwood! When I contrast who God is against who I am, I Corinthians 1:26-31 always comes to mind. “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
We had an amazing workweek April 21-26 with approximately forty people that attended. Five states were represented and we appreciated the diversity of gifts God blessed us with. We accomplished replacing the side deck to the auditorium, renovating the main front porch, interior painting, exterior painting, tree clearing, general cleaning, roofing, electrical work, and so much more. Words could never express our heartfelt gratitude to all those that labored! All the ladies who prepared food did a tremendous job. We are also very thankful for the love offerings we received to help cover the renovation expenses.
The Ladies Retreat was well attended, and I heard good reports from the ladies. Mrs. Mueller did an excellent job teaching, and the event was an encouragement to many. From the Bible sessions, testimonies, and special music, to the prizes, skits, fellowship, and campfire, there were many opportunities for the ladies to be refreshed.
We have a workday scheduled June 28 from nine to noon. Ladies and men are both welcome to help with general cleanup and grounds work to prepare for camp.
This summer’s theme is “Into the Wild Woods” with Evangelist Joe Mueller preaching both Junior and Teen weeks. There are many examples in Scripture of God dealing with His people in the wilderness when they were “camping.” Just a few weeks ago our pastor was preached from I Kings 19, when Elijah fled in fear to Mount Horeb, and heard God’s voice at the “Mount of God”. We often live for the dynamic wind, earthquake, or fire, and overlook the still small voice of God. What better place for your young people to hear the voice of God than surrounded by the natural beauty of God’s creation and challenged with strong Biblical preaching on a consistent basis. I am convinced that God speaks to every young person during their stay in our “Wild Woods.”
Here is a reminder of our upcoming schedule.
Workday – June 28
Staff Training – July 3-5
Junior Camp – July 7-11
Teen Camp – July 14-18
Men’s Retreat – Sept. 12-13
Winter Retreat – Dec. 29-31
We covet your prayers for us, the Joe Mueller family, our staff members, and the campers as we enter these final few weeks before camp begins. It is typically a time when our adversary brings spiritual attacks in an effort to thwart what God has planned. The most important thing you can do is pray!
With gratitude,
Joel Marshall
