Dear Pastors and Supporting Friends:
Our Winter Retreat went very well, although we didn’t have any winter. The blessing was that we didn’t have any mud either, like we did the year before. Evangelist Glenn Stevenson preached, with many young people responding to the invitations.
Karen Shaw will be our Ladies’ Retreat speaker. She will be a great blessing and encouragement to the ladies. Once again Caleb Reed will be returning for Summer Camp this year. God truly blessed his ministry last year. Pastor Philip Bishop will return again for our Men’s Retreat in September. He has been pastoring a number of years in the Alexandria, Virginia, area. He was also at one time a police officer and brings a unique perspective to the pulpit.
Our theme for camp this summer is Rescue 911. We have been convinced, as our culture continues to go in the dangerous direction of depravity, that the need of the hour is to sound the alarm and “rescue the perishing and care for the dying.” Our young people and adults are in grave danger, and we need revival in our land.
I have already begun spring maintenance on our facilities. I am now involved in cutting brush on the hillside behind our lodge while the leaves are off. Last year we replaced all the cabins, put flooring down, and added an air conditioner to the auditorium. There are many other maintenance projects that need to be done this year.
