Spring greetings from the hills of West Virginia! There are several updates we wanted to provide since the last e-newsletter. I would strongly encourage everyone to subscribe to our e-newsletter if you would like to keep up with the latest pictures, news, events, and schedules.
There are three workdays currently scheduled: A men’s workday is scheduled March 26, and workdays for both men and ladies are scheduled April 23 and May 14. I have a running list of maintenance items that need to be repaired and new items to complete in preparation for the camp season. We invite all those that “have a mind to work” to join us! It would be very helpful for us to be notified if you are planning to attend.
Our Ladies' Retreat is the next camp event scheduled for May 21. Our theme this year is “All that the Lord hath spoken, we will do,” from Exodus 19:8. Our speaker this year is Heather Marshall. She has been my faithful wife for over 18 years, homeschool mother to our six children, and a strong support to both me, the camp ministry, and our local church. Of course I’m biased, but I believe your ladies will receive a blessing by attending this retreat, and being challenged with what God has been teaching her the last several years. We are thankful for several volunteers taking on the responsibilities of games, music, and skits to make this possible.
I was reading recently through Wildwood’s board meeting minutes and marveled at what God has done through the years at an unlikely place, with imperfect people. As I read Psalm 62:11 this morning, “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God,” I was reminded that the success of Wildwood has always been completely dependent upon the power of God. I am convinced you will be blessed here, not because of our facilities, our program, or the people, but simply because “the LORD is in this place.”
Genesis 28:16 “And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place…”
